2 week check-up

Last Thursday was Tate's 2 week check up. When the nurse weighed him, she asked me to take him off the scale for a second while she rebalanced it. When I put him back on, she just started to laugh because it was reading correctly. His weight was 8 lbs. 9 oz. 10 days earlier is was 7 lbs. 3 oz. Which means he is gaining about 2 oz. a day!! Little chunker! The doctor asked me if I was feeding him straight cream :) No, but he would eat all day if I let him! Needless to say he is healthy and growing quickly. He is definitely not a newborn anymore! It is so fun to have a little one in our house again. I just wish he would sleep a little more. You definitely forget how sleep deprived you are!

I had to show a few pictures without clothes to really see how big he has gotten! This picture is from 12/23. Almost 3 weeks old and growing sooo fast.Tate loves Max and Porter. As soon as he hears their voice, he turns right towards them and just stares at them. I know they say that newborns don't smile, but I think he cracks a smile when he hears his brothers. I just keep hoping that he is the sweet, calm one. Tate does mean "cheerful".
We have pictures of all three of our boys asleep on Matt like this. I think it is so sweet! They are just so relaxed and peaceful.
Little Porter has become a big boy all of a sudden. I first noticed it when I came home from the hospital with Tate. Porter looked soo big. His hands and body looked so huge! Not only does he look bigger, but he acts bigger too. He is Mr. Independent. And if you step on his toes, a tantrum follows. He knows exactly what he wants, and you can't tell him any different. But then the cute, sweet Porter comes back and he just wants to "Hold you". He loves little Tate too. He asks, "Can I hold her."
Max has been the best helper. He loves to hold Tate for me. And he does it soo softly and sweetly. Max would hold Tate all day if he didn't get fussy or wiggly!
From day one, Tate has wanted to lift his head up. It amazes us that he is so strong. You can lay him on his stomach and he will pop his little head up off the floor. He loves to be held sitting up so that he can look around and watch what is going on.

We think that Tate looks a lot like Matt did when he was a baby. There is a picture of Matt that looks a lot like this picture of Tate. It shows how big their hands are. And Matt's hand are still big!

Our new arrival!

Tate Alan McInnes arrived Thurs. Dec. 3 at 3:12 p.m. He weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz. and was 20 in. Everything went smoothly and we are so excited to have him here. It is always such a relief to see their cute little faces and to know that they are here and healthy. This picture is from about a 1/2 hour after he was born. He was so alert and just wanted to see what was going on.

We were both able to come home the next day. It was so nice to get home and especially nice to see Max and Porter. They weren't allowed to come to the hospital because of new hospital rules. So needless to say, they were so excited to see both of us!

We are so happy to have little Tate here. He is such a cute little one. And we are enjoying every minute of having a new baby in our house.

Baby update and catch up

My due date is tomorrow, Dec. 3 and this little guy has decided that he is not moving. I was sure that he was coming early since I have been having contractions for the last month and have been dialated for the last few weeks. But he has decided that he is nice and comfortable where he is. So, tomorrow morning they will enduce me if I don't have him tonight. The next post will hopefully be some cute pictures of our new little boy! Wish us luck :)

Since the last few months have been spent nesting and completely projects around the house, I have neglected my journaling. So here's a quick overview of some fun things we have been up to the last little while.

Picking pumpkins at the Pops and Grandma Suzie McInnes' house.

The boys had a blast raking the small pile of leaves we have in our backyard and then jumping in them. Hopefully in years to come we will have bigger trees and more leaves for them to play in. They sure had a blast and it kept them busy for quite a while.

We love to take at least one drive up the canyon during fall to see the leaves. This year they were so beautiful and it was fun to see the boys so excited to find the prettiest leaves!

Halloween just gets more and more fun as the boys get older. They get so excited to dress up and even more excited to trick or treat.

We went trick or treating around our neighborhood with their cousins, Boston and Brock.

It seemed like fall came and went so quickly this year. And before we knew it, the snow was here. As soon as there was enough snow to play in, they wanted to be outside in it!! Crazy boys.

This was as big of a snowman as we could get! But they loved it!

And now Christmas is right around the corner. We love putting up all of the Christmas decorations. It is such a fun time of year and it brings such a fun spirit into the house. The boys are so excited for Christmas and even more excited for their new little brother to come to our house.

Playing catch-up

So I have been a little behind on blogging lately. I have been in nesting mode the last month. I don't know why I feel like I have to get my list of projects done before the baby gets here. But I guess that's me :) Needless to say, I feel like life has been a bit hectic and blogging always gets put on the backburner. But I just love having my own little journal, so I feel like I better get myself caught up!!

In September, Matt was able to take a few extra days off of work over the Labor Day Holiday. This is rare for Matt, so we contemplated going somewhere for a little vacation. But, being pregnant and other fun complications made us decide to stay home. But we couldn't do housework or projects at home, so we decided to have a "staycation" and try and do as many fun things as we could. We actually ended up having a really fun weekend and enjoyed having Matt home with us!

Since we had just been camping recently, the boys were really excited to do some more fishing. We went to a little pond in Herriman (the next city over) and cast out our lines. It wasn't as exciting as fishing in the mountains where we caught tons of fish! We didn't catch anything! But the boys loved it and we got to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Matt's Birthday fell on Labor Day this year! The big 33!!! I can't say much about how old that seems because I am actually almost 3 months older :) Matt likes to joke and say he married an "older woman"! But it is crazy how fast time flies when you do get older!
We had a great day! It was so fun to have him home and fun to be able to celebrate all day long!

My 3 boys! They are all soo cute :) I love how much the boys love their Dad. He takes such good care of them and is so much fun with them. As soon as he walks through the door after work, they attack him. They just love being with him. They are so lucky to have such a fun Dad!! And I am so lucky to have such a fun best friend! He truly is everything to me and I feel so blessed everyday! Thanks for being so amazing Matt. We love you so much!
We spent the morning at Utah Lake with Matt's sister Janay and their family. We love going on the boat with them. They are a blast to hang out with!!

We didn't have the best water, so the only victims were Matt and Buster on the tube. No one else was brave enough to get in! They got thrashed around a bit and Matt realized he's definitely getting older :)

The boys loving being with Aunt Janay!

Later that day, Matt's family had a Labor Day/Birthday party at Betsy's pool. We had a great time swimming and hanging out with the family!
And by the end of the day, we were all wiped out!
We finished off our last fun day at Hogle Zoo. I love taking the boys to the zoo because they both love the animals so much. And I was especially excited that Matt finally got to go with us!!

We had a great weekend and loved every minute of having Matt home with us!!!

Camping

We had been planning a camping trip with some of our friends in the neighborhood for months and were finally able to get it together the end of August. So in preparation, we set up our tent in the backyard to make sure we were ready to go. Of course the boys thought it was so awesome and that we had to sleep in it that night in our backyard. Here they are with their handy headlamps that they got for Christmas from Pops and Grandma Sue.
Notice the pile of animals in each one of their sleeping bags :) Silly boys can't go anywhere without their animals!
We decided to go to Potter's Pond in Fairview Canyon. About an 1 1/2 away. It always amazes me that we live so close to so many beautiful places. As we pulled into the campground, we realized that the camera was still at home. I was soooo bummed. But since we went to the same spot last year with our neighbors, I decided to post of few of the pictures from last year. It still looks the same :) It was absolutely beautiful.

I know this is from last year, but still the same activities.

The ponds were right next to our campsite. The boys love fishing. So we spent a lot of time there.

This is a picture of Max's first fish last year. He was so excited. So we thought this year would be the same. Well, when he reeled in his first fish this year, it was a different story. As Matt went to take the hook out he realized that the fist swallowed the hook. Max immediately wanted us to put the fish back so that it wouldn't die. When he saw that the fish was dead, he flipped out. He cried and cried and was so sad that we had killed the fish. So after some persuasion, he decided to keep fishing if we promised to keep the fish alive and put them back after we caught them :) We laughed and did our best to keep them all alive from that point on!! Our friends decided that he would probably be the president of PITA when he grows up. Our cute animal lover!!
I had to post these pictures of the boys from last year. I couldn't believe how different they both look. They are both soo grown up now. I have to admit that when I saw them, I started to cry :( You don't realize how much they change when you see them everyday! It is amazing what changes in a year. It made me so sad to think they are changing so much. But then so happy to see what fun boys I have to be around everyday. It also made me so excited to meet our new cute little boy. And to experience these fun years with our new one. I feel so blessed :)

I have to say that Porter is such a cute little guy!!! These pictures just sum him up. Always smiling and making us smile. We love our cute guys :)

We had a blast this year. It was so fun to spend time with our neighbors and just be able to hang out. The kids all had a great time exploring around the campsite and getting as dirty as possible. It was soo beautiful and nice to be out in nature. Thanks Doyles and Watsons. We have to make this an annual trip.

Happy Birthday Max!! (a little late)

Happy Birthday Max! Last month Max celebrated his 5th birthday. Crazy to say that we have a 5 year old. He had been looking forward to his birthday for months. And when the day finally came, he was so excited!
We started the month celebrating with Matt's family at the Fast Sunday birthday dinner. He loves being with his cousins.

He has grown up so fast! And finally grew out of his little bike. He was so excited to get his new motorcycle bike.
It's funny how much Porter has to be like his big brother. We had to get a monster truck with a trailer for Porter too. These two load up and tow around everything together.
Max really wanted a baby kitty for his birthday. So here is his new kitty, Purry. A webkin will have to do for now :)
All he wanted to do for his birthday was to have his cousins over to swim in the little pool and slip n' slide. So here's the crew!
We had to have a water balloon fight. And since I am pregnant and not a good target; it was Dad's turn.

We can't believe he is 5 already. But Max has sure grown up to be a good boy. It's so fun having him around. They each come with such different personalities. And Max keeps our lives very interesting. He is such a smart little guy and always keeps me on my toes. And he can be such a big helper too. I am so excited to have his help with the new baby. Happy Birthday Buzzy!

Our best buddy, Duke!

Most mornings the boys wake up, eat breakfast and then help us let Duke out and feed him. They love their buddy Duke. They load up their trucks and head outside to drive them in the grass and play with Duke for a while. I always thought having a dog would just be another headache. But I couldn't imagine what these little boys would do without Duke. They love to play outside with him. Max loves animals so much and asks me every day for some sort of animal. And since I am not ready to deal with any other animals yet, it's nice for him to have his buddy Duke.
