Easter

Our annual tradition is to take the boys to the Riverton City Easter Egg Hunt. This year it was freezing cold and windy, but the boys were too excited to worry about the weather. The hunt usually lasts less than 1 minute and it's kind of caos, but they ask to go every year! We had to get a quick picture with the Easter bunny. Porter was a little hesitant at first, but then snuggled right in. And of course, we had to bribe Max. Lately, he has a hard time doing anything out of his comfort zone :(

Then at lunch time we went over to Pops and Grandma Suzie's house to help color Easter Eggs for the family Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday. It cracks me up how different the boys are. Max is so detailed in his egg coloring. He can patiently hold an egg half way in a color forever and then switch to a new color and patiently wait again until it turns the color he wants. His eggs turned out awesome and he was so proud of them. Porter, on the other hand, basically tosses his eggs into the colors and can't wait until he can pick it up, with his hands not the egg dipper, and toss it into the next color to make a swirled mixture of color. Two totally different boys!! But they both had a blast doing it!

On Easter morning, Max woke up first as usual and had to wait for Porter to wake up. He was so patient, but wanted so badly to go wake him up. Here's the four boys waiting to find their baskets. Every year the Easter Bunny leaves a trail of jelly beans that leads to their baskets. Honestly, Porter would probably be content with just the candy. That kid LOVES candy. He had to make sure that every single jelly bean got picked up :) A quick side story: The night before, Max was talking to me about Easter morning and was reminding me that the Easter Bunny always leaves a trail of jelly beans. He then looked at me and said, "Unless you leave the jelly beans! Is there really an Easter Bunny? The Easter Bunny today had a costume on!" Uh oh. Too observant already. I had to explain that the Easter Bunny has to have helper Bunnies around the world because he could never do it on his own. I wonder how long he'll believe that story for? :)

After the first session of Conference, we hurried down to my Dad and Pattie's house to have lunch with them. Pattie made an amazing lunch, as usual!

And then after the second session we went over to Matt's sister, Janay's house for dinner and an Easter Egg Hunt. We had yummy food and homemade pies!

The Easter Egg hunt is always so much fun. The older cousins get a kick out of hiding the eggs for everyone. Then you have to hunt around the yard for your egg before you can eat. This year the best hiding spot was Janays' egg that was up on top of the roof balancing on a pipe :)

I love Easter traditions. And we especially love being around family. It is so fun to live close to so many family members. I love that the boys get to grow up around their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
